Familial exudative vitreoretinopathy type IV (FEVR type IV) is one of four types of familial exudative vitreoretinopathy. This familial disease has an autosomal dominant mode of inheritance has been mapped to the same region of chromosome 11 as familial exudative vitreoretinopathy type I, but it is not caused by a mutation in the FZD4 gene. The responsible gene is unknown, but it spans ~15cM is flanked by markers D11S1368 (centromeric) and D11S937 (telomeric). FEVR type IV is genetically distinct from FEVR type III.
