The neural nevus is type of nevocellular nevus [nevus - nevocellular]. It is a variant of the intradermal nevus [nevus - intradermal] and is characterized by the presence of  spindle-shaped nevus cells embedded in the loose collagenous tissue of the deeper dermis. It has no malignant potential.
