Cysts sometimes form in the ciliary body between the pigmented and non-pigmented epithelia in multiple myeloma and in other causes of hypergammaglobulinemia. They appear white after formalin fixation due to the precipitation of plasma proteins within them. Small cysts may form in the same location in other conditions, as in association with a ciliary body melanoma [melanoma - ciliary body].
