Familial exudative vitreoretinopathy type III (FEVR type III, autosomal recessive exudative vitreoretinopathy, OMIM # 601813) is one of three types of familial exudative vitreoretinopathy. It has an autosomal recessive mode of inheritance and needs to be differentiated from the other two types: familial exudative vitreoretinopathy type I and familial exudative vitreoretinopathy type II. Familial exudative vitreoretinopathy type III has been mapped to human chromosome 11 (11q13.4) and may be allelic with FEVR type I, which is caused by mutations in the FZD4 gene.
