Overview

Contributor: Gordon K. Klintworth
Milroy disease is a special form of lymphedema occuring as a consequence of a failure of lymphatic drainage because of an intrinsic abnormality of lymph drainage. The lymph containing pathways are believed to be congenitally defective and the lymphedema is congenital. A gene for Milroy disease has been mapped to human chromosome 5.
