Familial exudative vitreoretinopathy type II (FEVR type II, X-linked recessive exudative vitreoretinopathy, OMIM # 305390) is one of three types of  familial exudative vitreoretinopathy. It has an X-linked recessive mode of inheritance and is caused by a mutation in the NDP gene. This familial disease is hence a variant of Norrie disease and needs to be differentiated from the other two types that have different modes of inheritance: familial exudative vitreoretinopathy type I and familial exudative vitreoretinopathy type III.
