Acrocephalosyndactyly is term that includes several distinct inherited conditions with craniosynostosis and limb abnormalities. Other features include exophthalmos, exotropia, optic atrophy, partial ophthalmoplegia and cataracts [cataract]. Five types of acrocephalosyndactyly are recognized: acrocephalosyndactyly type I, acrocephalosyndactyly type II, acrocephalosyndactyly type III, acrocephalosyndactyly type IV, and acrocephalosyndactyly type V.
